Something to dream about.... An interesting selection of books: I really enjoyed How to Stop Time and I've considered reading the Eleanor Oliphant story, and I obviously read the children's book! Hope you and DD enjoy them too xxLooking for Blue Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10010049814419812468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-692517788030253147.post-19068489822804366492018-04-15T16:40:34.257+03:002018-04-15T16:40:34.257+03:00Let's compare notes as we go. (About the modern translation - this is the New King James Version so I thought it would be slightly more modern than the original KJ. I didn't want a completely new translation as I wanted something that was translated from the Greek, from the Hebrew - rather than from the Old English, from the Greek, from the Hebrew. And I didn't want a simplified version with bits missed out (like the Good News Bible). I've always followed a reading plan before which gives a bit of OT, NT and a Psalm and Proverb but it feels like you lose the thread, so I'm just going to read a bit each day and see how it goes. Not a bad project and something I've been considering doing again.
Someone else has recommended the Eleanor Elephant book so I'll be interested in what you think. I loved Enid Blyton as a kid - especially the "Adventure" series but I know that some of her writing is now considered to be controversial - have they revised some of the writing? Not sure how I feel about that.
I have been to that bookstore in Piccadilly! Enjoy yourself.Margie from Torontohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10103835021764804099noreply@blogger.com
