Tidbits 19

DD: If I found a time machine I would go and help a shiny armour to fight a dragon.

Why I would like DD to sleep in her own bed....

Before an internet ordered delivery from the supermarket there is always the inevitable phone call to tell you what they don't have in stock and what they could substitute if you agree. I scheduled my order for 20:00 - 23:00 because we were out all day. The call came at 22:30.
Me (on the phone talking about whether they could give me chocolate yogurts instead of strawberry): Chocolate? No.
DD (running out from her bedroom in a panic and shouting): IS THAT THE DELIVERY? ARE YOU TALKING TO THE DELIVERY?
Me: Yes, be quiet and let me finish here.
DD: LET ME TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!
Me: Wait a minute, I'm almost finished.
DD: NO! LET ME TO TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT THE DELIVERY!
Me: Ok, quickly, what?
DD: Tell him we do want chocolate and not just chocolate, we want sweets too.

DD: I don't want to go to swimming lessons today, I'm so boring!

  1. Number two made me laugh out loud! My daughter sleeps in the same way whenever she's in my bed, yet strangely enough, sleeps relatively straight in her own bed.
I like that the supermarket calls about your order before it gets delivered. The first I know about substitutions is when I open the front door. I'm usually in too much of a hurry to get the groceries in to scrutinise the offered substitutes and end up accepting them, even though I shouldn't!

    1. They are very good about delivery services here - especially as most of us live in flats and mine is on the third floor with no lift.

  2. There was no way your delivery arrived by 11pm, right? if they were only calling about substitutes at 10.30...

    1. LOL Nicole - of course not! I got a text message at 8pm saying they running 1 1/2 hours late. It came at 11;45 and I was so grateful. They used to arrive on time but they recently closed Mega in Talpiot so the delivery comes from Ramot now. I'm thinking of changing to shufersal but apart from the timing, I can't really fault Mega. And I have a YOU card.

    1. Thank you - I love buying new bedding. It's cheaper than redecorating but with similar effect.
